About the Program
Ayelet Gundar-Goshen (The Wolf Hunt) and Noa Yedlin (Stockholm: A Novel) are two of the latest generation of accomplished storytellers to come out of Israel. Both authors address profound questions about modern society through the lens of fiction. While these novels examine the Israeli experience, they also have universal appeal, exploring issues of parenthood, identity, aging, friendship, and uncertainty. There will be much to discuss!
JULY: The Wolf Hunt by Ayelet Gundar-Goshen—Award-winning author Ayelet Gundar-Goshen returns with a timely and suspenseful exploration of the fault lines in a community, a school, and a family, as a mother begins to suspect her teenage son of committing a terrible crime.
AUGUST: Stockholm: A Novel by Noa Yedlin—An ingeniously plotted dark comedy by Noa Yedlin about aging and friendship following a tight-knit circle of seniors as they attempt to hide the death of one of their best friends so he can win the Nobel Prize for Economics.
Facilitator: Janet Bain Fattal holds an MA in comparative literature from UCLA. She has taught world literature and composition at many levels. A screenwriter, novelist, and book group facilitator, Fattal loves to share her passion for stories and ideas with others, particularly in an informal environment.
